At Wessex Tree Surgeons, our staff are fully qualified and the National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) certification is attained by all staff working on-site. This certification includes aerial tree work and the use of machinery including stump grinders, wood chippers, mobile elevated working platforms and telescopic cranes.
We recognise the importance of health and safety both for our own workforce, members of the public and property. The business has trained an ‘in-house’ member of staff certificated to managing safely approved and validated by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. In addition to this, a health and safety representative certified to National Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety is retained by the business.
We are regularly assessed in health and safety having an Arboricultural Association full audit every 5 years, The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme accreditation audit every year, external audit by safety representative periodically and internal safety audit monthly by the contract managers. All lifting and lowering equipment (LOLER) is inspected and recorded weekly by the user, climbing equipment is checked every 6 months, and climbing and lowering equipment every 12 months by an external LOLER registered inspector.
Wessex Tree Surgeons is committed to the Continuing Professional Development guidelines established by the Arboricultural Association and the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
